Well, we are now hearing word that his entire downfall was brought about by a female journalist who was shocked by his vocal attraction towards underage girls!
In 2007, Rochelle Herman interviewed the 37-year-old at a health event at a high school in Florida where she heard the Indiana-native make a horrifying comment.
"He told me that he thought middle school girls were so hot… I was in shock… I actually was questioning, 'Did I really just hear what I think I heard?' I looked over at my cameraman… and he was just astounded."'
After hearing this off-color confession, the reporter spoke with Fogle several times in the following years where he — for some reason — openly talked with her. She shared:
"He talked about sex with underage children… It was just something that he really, really enjoyed."
Eventually, Herman contacted authorities who made her wear a wire to record their conversations.
"He trusted me for unknown reasons… He had said to me numerous times over the course of years about having sex with minors."
In an even more terrifying twist, the diet posterboy inquired even about her own two children!
"I had two young children at the time, and he talked to me about installing hidden cameras in their rooms and asked me if I would choose which child I would like him to watch."
Although she was rightfully terrorized by his request, she knew she had to play along to gather evidence.
"During the time that I had with the FBI, I had to play a role. I had to play a certain part in order for Jared to be able to trust me and talk further into detail."
These findings would later play a part in the court's investigation.
We greatly applaud Herman's courage and her cooperation with law enforcement!
