Brie Larson is the real MVP!
While presenting the Best Actor award to Casey Affleck at the Oscars Sunday, the actress very pointedly didn't clap for the actor as he took to the stage to accept his award.
And people definitely noticed!
The pastor has spoken!
And for the Duggar family, well, that may just be good enough!
In either a highly coordinated or highly coincidental move, pastor Ronnie Floyd of Cross Church in Springdale, Arkansas — where the Duggars attend services — opened a sermon series on love, sex, and relationships Sunday, and it has some interesting implications regarding Josh Duggar's ongoing cheating and sex scandals.
The pastor spoke about homosexuality (why not, right?!) and other hot-button items related to sex and relationships, but once he got to what was on everyone's mind — infidelity — is when things got interesting.
"We're in a sexual epidemic of unprecedented proportions in this country. Nothing is secret now nor will it ever be. Adultery, being sexually or emotionally unfaithful to your spouse, that's wrong. Some of you are on the other end of someone else's destruction."
Some of you, you say, Pastor? Hmmm…
More disturbing, though, was the pastor's contention that in the absence of sex in a marriage, infidelity will surely follow, arguing that keeping a spouse happy through "sexual contact" may only be put on hold through "focused prayer."
He warned spouses that if they failed to keep their partners sexually happy, it would open the couple up to attacks from the enemy:
"And that enemy is going to take your spouse away from you. Both men and woman have their sexual needs met by someone, somewhere, somehow."
Considering this is the Duggars' home church — as you can see by this tweet from Jill Duggar Dillard, below — it's hard not to read too much into the pastor speaking directly to — or for — the Duggars:
And knowing how devastated Josh's wife Anna already is about the scandal, this seems like adding fuel to the fire in some bizarre, misogynistic defense of Josh and his inexcusable actions.
Yuck, yuck, yuck, all the way around.
