Dancing With The Stars is gearing up for its 21st season and announcing its contestants!
Earlier today, we reported Backstreet Boy Nick Carter is already on board and Chaka Khan, aka the Queen of Funk, is also supposed to be joining. But now it looks like the show felt it needed a little bit of controversy.
They've decided to add former Food Network star Paula Deen to compete for the coveted mirrorball trophy.

We've heard rumors about some of the possible contenders this year, but this one really caught us by surprise!
Frankly, it seems quite a bit of an odd choice as she's been involved in more than one scandal the last couple years.
Back in 2013 it came out that she used racial slurs, which ultimately caused her to lose her Food Network show, as well as multiple sponsors and brand partnerships.
On top of that, she recently tweeted out a throwback pic of her son Bobby Dean in brown face.
What's more interesting is that this wasn't the first time DWTS asked Deen to join the show. The competition show actuallyed tried to recruit her for season 17 as well as back in 2010.
She of course declined both times, and once stated:
"They did ask me and I said no. Fat girls don't look good sweating."
We guess she's worried less these days about how she looks to the public?
We understand why Paula would do the show, as her image can only improve from here. But is this a good move for DWTS?
Will you be watching when they face off Monday, Sept. 14, at 8 p.m. on ABC??
