We totally saw this coming!
When you're as beautiful as David Beckham, and as well-known worldwide, you don't just retire from playing soccer and ride off into the sunset — you use what you've been given for an on-screen career!
In an interview with The Times in London this weekend, David discussed his next career move as his long period of soccer stardom comes to a close. And, as it turns out, he wants to act!
"I am very aware that many sportsmen and other celebrities have turned their hand to acting and failed. I know that it is a tough profession, where you need a huge amount of skill and discipline, and I wouldn't want to push myself forward too soon, without learning more about it, and doing a lot more practice."
Whoa — sounds like he's taking this a bit more seriously than just a cameo part here and there on a show or movie!!
It's important to remember, of course, that Beckham has acted before; he had a cameo in the recently released film The Man From U.N.C.L.E., as well as a guest appearance on a sketch for the show Sports Relief, so he's not brand new to the industry.
He said of his success so far:
"But what I have done so far, I have loved. I can deal with most things. I am a well-known person, so I have got used to criticism."
He's also going to be featured in the upcoming film King Arthur, starring Jude Law, so clearly Beckham is not hurting for opportunities!
What do U think — would David Beckham make a good actor??
