Lena Dunham is going through some hard times.
According to Lena's Instagram, the typically upbeat and funny writer shared a very personal message about her struggles with mental health without getting too specific about the problem.
Those who are familiar with the actress will know she has opened up about her experiences with anxiety and OCD in the past — afflictions she's dealt with since childhood.

In the emotional post, Dunham poses in her Calvins (another nod to Justin Bieber, perhaps?) while relaying a detailed writing about her difficult past week. The Girls creator even goes on to add that she had to distance herself from people she loves to deal with the cryptic issue.
"TBH this was a rough week. It felt like my body, my hormones, my general sense of well-being were betraying me. I wanted to crumple into a pile or hide like a sweatshirt in the lost and found. And I felt as though there wasn't a way to ask for the space and time I needed without hurting someone else. What a shitty feeling, but isn't that the reality for so many of us? I am certainly no self-help guru but here is what I know tonight: when you take the time and space you need, kindly and responsibly, you're suddenly available to the people you love in a whole new way. There is no other answer (except Calvins… Nothing gets between us.)."
Ouch! It sounds like a tough time for the funny woman. We just hope this isn't too serious and that she's currently on the road to happy.
On another note, we have a feeling she's referencing her boyfriend, Jack Antonoff, when she discusses her fears over "hurting someone else". Since the two are SO close, it would make sense that her need for space would be hurtful.
Hang in there, girl! We know your amazing attitude and work ethic will get you through this!
