As we reported, YouTube star Caleb Logan passed away at the age of 13 from an undiagnosed medical condition last week. The late teen was remembered in a touching memorial service that streamed live on Facebook and Periscope on Tuesday.
The internet personality was seen as a happy-go-lucky kid who loved sushi, travel, and sports. However, Caleb's parents, Billy and Katie, recently revealed that their family has a history of heart disease — though there's no confirmation this caused his untimely passing.
The family, known as the Bratayleys on YouTube, started the memorial service off with a touching tribute to the late up-and-comer which featured clips of past birthdays, vacations, and other milestones in the digital celeb's life.
Though Caleb's immediate family didn't speak during the livestream, several people close to the famous brood paid tribute to the teenager — including cousins, a family friend, and three of his coaches.
One speaker, identified as Coach Daniel noted:
"Win, lose or draw, he hit the field with the same intensity and drive. He was every coach's dream player. He was so fun. He was easygoing. He never asked for anything. He just went along with the flow and his smile was definitely contagious. He could light up a room."
Caleb's cousin Paige shared:
"He was like a little brother to me. He loved life and enjoyed every little bit even if it. We went to Australia and everywhere we went he would find sushi. He liked magic cards — magic trick cards. He started collecting them."
This is just so sad.
In fact, over 40,000 people tuned in for the memoriam. Wow.
It's said that the deceased's autopsy has been completed though an official coroner's report for his cause of death is still pending. We hope the report will help shed some more light on why another young soul was taken far too soon.
Our thoughts are with Caleb's loved ones during this trying time.
