We're willing to bet that at this point, the studio wishes it could have banished Pan to Neverland, because if this film doesn't rack up some big bucks, it's going to cost Warner Bros. a pretty penny!
WB execs had some high hopes for Joe Wright's Peter Pan origin story, but it doesn't look like it's going to pay off.
The studio had invested top dollar in the family flick, granting the movie a budget of $150 million and shelled out quite a bit on marketing last year.

However, Pan had a dismal opening weekend in North America, only bringing in $15.3 million throughout the continent between October 9 and 11.
Internationally, it didn't do much better.
The film only grossed $20.4 million this past weekend across 54 different markets. So far, it's only made $40.5 million worldwide. With numbers like that, experts are estimating that the flick's flop could cost Warner between $130 million and $150 million.
The studio has yet to comment on Pan's debut, but it seems like they're going to need a WHOLE lot of pixie dust to turn this around!
