We guess it REALLY IS all about the articles!

Playboy magazine has just announced a HUGE change in the way they'll be doing things — there won't be any more nude photos published!

The redesign of the magazine won't take place until next March, but after that, there won't be any more nude women in the magazines. However, Playboy will still feature women in provocative poses. They haven't made a a decision about centerfolds though.

The decision came after a top editor at Playboy, Cory Jones, met with the founder and still current editor-in-chief, Hugh Hefner, to talk a bit about why they should stop publishing photos of naked women.

Scott Flanders, the magazine's chief executive talked a bit about how the company has pioneered changes in society but:

"That battle has been fought and won."

He goes on to say:

"You're now one click away from every sex act imaginable for free. And so it's just passé at this juncture."

This decision might be just what the bunny ordered, as the magazine has rapidly declined its circulation over the years going from 5.6 million in 1975 to about 800,000 now.

A good example that this radical change could work is how it played out on the internet and Playboy's website!

In August last year, their website got rid of nudity and opted for a "cleaner, more modern style." As a result, Playboy executives have said the average age of its reader went from around 47 to early 30s and the web traffic jump from four million to about 16 million unique users per month!

We're not sure if this change will work but we think it's FANTASTIC!

We're glad the magazine isn't just trying to change things up from a played out and stale format, but they're going in a more tame direction as opposed to shock and awe to get readers!

Kudos Playboy!

What do you think? Are you more encouraged to pick up a Playboy knowing this or is it time for this magazine to hit the dusty trail?
