Hollywood can be an extremely unfair place.
The Newsroom star sided squarely with Lawrence — which is a lot better than some other stars have done lately — and spoke on the difficulty women have in earning equal pay in the film industry:
"Welcome to Hollywood. But if you're Jennifer [Lawrence] or Jessica [Chastain] and you have the leverage, use it. Get what you can get."
It's sad to think the system is set up in such a way that 'get what you can get' is the only advice female stars are getting!
The Steve Jobs star shared a bit more of his own history in the interview, too:
"Look, get what you can get. Certainly women have had a tougher time of it, [I] absolutely agree with it. However, I've stood next to big stars who are making a hell of a lot more money than I am. But I can relate, I can relate."
And, he finally dropped the truth of some of the shady dealings that have gone on for years in Hollywood, saying:
"[Entertainment is] a business, run by people who have three or four sets of books."
Ain't that the truth.
