However, one of the characters who was dressed up as Chewbacca was pulled over on his way to a polling station. When traffic police asked for his license, our favorite Wookie responded by showing his empty hand, at which point the police officer asked him to get out of the car and proceeded to detain him.
The man dressed as the furry Star Wars character was ultimately arrested and fined 170 hryvnas — or $7.50 — for "malignant resistance to lawful requirements of a police officer."
But the bad news didn't stop there for the Internet party as Darth Vader wasn't allowed to vote even though he presented a Ukranian passport that was even issued to "Darth Ivanovich Vader."
Luckily for the the rest of the Skywalker clan though, Vader's son and daughter, Luke and Leia, were able to cast their votes!
The Internet Party of Ukraine hasn't really been around all that long as they first broke on scene last year during Ukraine's presidential and parliamentary election where they party put both Vader and Yoda on its list of candidates. Their platform involved calling for free PC and foreign language training for Ukrainian citizens.
Though it was a minor fine, we still say they should have let the Wookie win!
