The plane, which had just taken off from the resort of Sharm el-Sheikh on the Red Sea on Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, crashed in a desolate region of mountains, according to the country's aviation ministry.
Family members of Russian passengers (above) waited for news of the crash and the status of their relatives and loved ones earlier Saturday morning.
And in a scary twist to this tale, the flight — which early reports indicate went down due to mechanical problems — is now being claimed as purposely attacked and destroyed by ISIS-affiliated terrorists.
A Twitter message from an ISIS group in Egypt took responsibility for the alleged attack:
"The fighters of the Islamic State were able to down a Russian plane over Sinai province that was carrying over 220 Russian crusaders. They were all killed, thanks be to god."
However, even though final reports won't follow for months — if not longer — initial findings at the crash site have suggested to officials that the issue was a mechanical one with the plane, and terrorists were not involved in bringing down the jet.
Either way, our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of all those affected by this awful crash.
The YouTube celebrity posted a lengthy, emotional video revealing that she and her husband are ending their marriage.
While sharing the sad news with her over 4 million subscribers, Colleen immediately broke down, saying:
"I am dreading making this video. I'm just going to say it. Joshua and I are getting a divorce. Man, that sucks to say out loud."

"I want to start off by saying Joshua is a wonderful man, and I am so in love with him. This has nothing to do with he's a bad person, or he did something horrible to me, or anything like that. He's a good person and I love him."
Instead, the singer clarified that they ultimately weren't a good fit together:
