Charlie Sheen is getting ready to make a "revealing personal announcement" to Matt Lauer on the Today show on Tuesday, and many people are speculating the 50-year-old is HIV-positive.
Now, a source has revealed to Access Hollywood that the actor's ex-wife Denise Richards has known for a "number of years" that the New York native had been diagnosed with the disease.

The insider explained the 44-year-old and the two kids she shares with the Anger Management alum are not infected with the virus because the troubled star contracted it after their divorce in 2006.
The confidante also added the actress and her ex have "not been intimate" since they ended their relationship. In fact, it seems as though they aren't even on good terms, since Charlie bashed her on Twitter earlier this year.
But it turns out his former flame isn't the only one who knew about the illness.
Hollywood crisis manager Howard Bragman told People he was also aware of the famous father's struggle with HIV, saying:
"I've known about this a long time, it's not a surprise to me. I feel very sorry for his pain. And I hope it's used as a teachable moment for the world. This is a disease that can affect anyone."
Howard revealed that team members for the Wall Street's leading man approached him earlier this year to enlist his help in dealing with the disease:
"It's been going on for quite awhile. He's not necessarily comfortable talking about it. It was very hard to get up the courage for him to talk about it."
But the publicist added that the film and TV star "is getting treatment, and a lot of people in his life know about it." He knows the sit-down on the national talk show could both help and hurt Charlie:
"The interview could open up a lot of sympathy for him, but he has to be concerned about a fear of litigation from former sexual partners. You don't take that lightly."
While Sheen's reps have not commented on these reports, we're really curious to see what he has to say on Today.
