This is so sad.
On Tuesday, Charlie Sheen confirmed he is HIV positive after immense media speculation.
However, the Two and a Half Men alum's ex Denise Richards opened up about her ex-husband's hardships in a recent interview for the podcast Allegedly With Theo Von and Matthew Cole Weiss.
Though the Red Dawn heartthrob may be known for his partying ways, it seems that wasn't always the case.

The blonde beauty shared:
"Charlie, when I married him, he wasn't a bad boy. He was sober for almost four years. He was a very different person. His lifestyle was very, very different. He was a former bad boy, I guess."
Unfortunately, Sheen wasn't reformed for very long as he continued to struggle with addiction during and after their marriage.
"I have a lot of empathy for anyone that struggles with addiction. I'm not going to judge the choices they made under the influence. I can only judge the person I'm meeting and I think sometimes past experiences make who you are so I just went off the person I had met and gotten to know and fell in love with. He was very different."
Well said! We also have a feeling this was Miz Richards attempt to hint at the controversial celeb's big health reveal — especially since it was reported that she knew about the diagnosis for some time now.
Still, the 44-year-old's high profiled relationship with Charlie certainly didn't help her career. In fact, her breakup with the TV star had a HUGE impact on her ability to book work.
"I was surprised how much that affected me work wise…I was perceived as being a lunatic and crazy. There are people that have [since] come up to me and apologized for drinking the Kool-aid…It was hard."
Yikes! Though the Wild Things actress and the funnyman have had quite the tumultuous relationship in the past, it seems that things are certainly better between the two of them!
"[It's] up and down. I'm always here [for him,] but he's an addict. I believe we move past your sh*t. Don't sweat the small stuff. For better or worse, he's going to be in my life for the rest of my life so I personally like to keep the peace."
Well that's good to hear. Here's hoping Sheen will be able to lean on his baby momma during his time of need.
Our thoughts are with the whole Sheen/Richards clan during this intense time! Be sure to ch-ch-check out the mother-of-three's full interview (below)!
