The lifestyles of the rich and famous become ever more exclusive!
On Thursday afternoon, the city of El Lay won approval from their Board of Airport Commissioners to build a new terminal at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
Normally that'd be super boring news, but this one has a twist: the new terminal at LAX will exclusively be for celebs! (Oh, and rich people who want to dole out nearly $2,000 to hob-nob with celebs!)
The new building, called the Los Angeles Suite, will allow celebs, sports stars, politicians, and other public figures to completely avoid the paparazzi and/or any unwanted public attention thanks to discreet, behind-closed-doors guest drop-offs and private cars that will drive celeb travelers right to the door of their waiting airplanes.
The terminal — which should open in a temporary facility in about six months — will require a hefty sum from those seeking privacy, though: the bill will run anywhere from $1,500 to $1,800 per trip into the super-exclusive celeb cavern!
Airport officials are angling the story in two ways, saying it will help attract more high-end business travelers to land in El Lay, as well as keep celebs away from the general public — and thus, not have random members of the public unknowingly get caught up in paparazzi chaos in the regular terminal any more.
In some ways, this doesn't sound like that bad of an idea — kind of extending First Class all the way to the terminal. But should the stars be sequestered like this?
