And we're at such a loss of words, we're going to let Miz Teigen tell you what went down:
Sherri Shepherd Loses Appeal To Have Her Name Removed From Lamar Sally Jr.'s Birth Certificate — Will She Try For The Supreme Court Next?
On Tuesday, it was revealed that Sherri Shepherd has lost an appeal to have her name removed from the birth certificate of the son she had via surrogacy with Lamar Sally. Oof!
As we previously reported, the 30 Rock actress continues to be wrapped up in a heated legal battle with her ex after the funny lady expressed she no longer wished to be the legal parent to Lamar Jr. — who was born via an egg donor.
In fact, the View host was hesitant to remain little Lamar's momma because the surrogacy decision was made pre-separation to her former flame — claiming she was tricked into making the decision to have another child. Whoa!
We're not surprised to report that lawyers attempted to convince a court that the Broadway star shouldn't be financially responsible for the child since they aren't biologically related. Unfortunately, the defense didn't work and Sherri will still have to pay child support after losing her recent bid.
Specifically, the 48-year-old will continue to pay $4,100 per month until the infant turns 13-years-old — where the check amount will increase to $4,600. Bummer.
Though, it seems this case could head to the Supreme Court if the comedienne wants to appeal this recent ruling. We have a feeling we'll be seeing Sherri in court again very soon!
