Chris Rock's Estranged Wife FINALLY Responds To The Adoption Controversy!

Finally we have an explanation!

On Tuesday, Chris Rock's estranged wife Malaak Compton-Rock, spoke out on claims that she illegally fostered a child from South Africa. Speculation surrounding the four-year-old Ntombi's adoption surfaced during the pair's divorce contentious proceedings.

Unfortunately, Chris is denying any relationship to Ntombi despite living with the girl for seven years. The comedian even went as far to allege that he had no knowledge of how the child entered their family, suggesting that Malaak was deceptive about the arrangement.

Now Compton-Rock's rep is fighting back, saying:

"The tabloid reports are false and outrageous. Malaak has never been contacted about an investigation of any sort. The welfare and livelihood of this child has always been of utmost importance to the entire Rock family. She is in the United States lawfully with the written consent of her biological parents, with whom she continues to have contact."

Hmm, sounds relatively legit!

The source added:

"While Malaak has made strides in the adoption, she understands that intercountry adoption is a long and rigorous process, with checks and balances in both countries essential for the protection of children," the statement adds. "Malaak again appeals for the privacy of her family."

Sheesh. All we can hope is that the adoption is completed smoothy and LEGALLY.

Another insider contended:

"Chris and Malaak have visited with Ntombi's family multiple times in South Africa both before and after Ntombi came to the U.S. Chris and Malaak pursued legal guardianship for adoption of Ntombi for years. Now she is pursuing it on her own and she is confident it will be completed."

Hopefully the situation will work out for all parties involved…especially Ntombi.

So, do YOU believe Malaak?
