We hate to say we saw this coming!
On Tuesday, DailyMail revealed that Chris Rock is now facing a full criminal investigation surrounding the South African child he raised in his home for seven years without formally adopting her. Whoa.
It's said that an elite unit from the South African police force is looking in to see if the comedian and his estranged wife Malaak took Ntombi out of her home country by not following the proper legal procedure.
As we previously reported, after the couple's relationship to their "foster" daughter was revealed, reports claimed that Miz Rock took the tiny tot back to her birthplace to get a visitor visa every year. Huh?

Still, despite her impending divorce to the Everybody Hates Chris creator, the mother-of-
three two is in the process of adopting the 7-year-old. So what's with the threat of an investigation??
Unfortunately, Ntombi's paperwork has her in the U.S. as a visitor not a prospective adoptee. Of course this highly publicized situation has raised some alarm in the country's Department of Home Affairs — who has enlisted the help of the Hawks police team that handles sensitive cases.
A detective from the task force explained:
"It sounded like a strange case and it has been flagged up to us. We are awaiting more details from Home Affairs who are looking into how this came about. Whatever arrangement there was between the Rocks and the parents of the child, laws are in place to prevent parents from allowing their children to travel overseas indefinitely with third parties. It seems there has not been regular contact with the biological parents and if money changed hands, or even gifts in return for the child staying with other people overseas, it sounds very much like child trafficking."
Uh oh! No wonder Chris is trying to distance himself from this drama.
The kiddo's biological parents have since been revealed as Crispen Khanyile and Thusang Precious Ndebele. Reportedly, Chris met the little one's father when he was staying at the Saxon Hotel in Johannesburg where Crispen served as a waiter back in 2008. It's believed that the duo met the little girl when she was only four-months-old.
A source shared:
"Crispen is a friendly guy. He came to know Chris and the conversation turned to their children. A day or so later, Crispen brought his kids in to meet him."
Hmm, very inneresting!
The couple have two other biological children in addition to Ntombi but are now currently separated. Apparently, Ntombi's mother lives in poor conditions with her siblings and sells secondhand clothes in a dangerous neighborhood. How sad!
We hope this entire investigation will only help, not hinder, the child that's been living with the Rock family for so many years.
