UPDATE 11:29 A.M. EST: TMZ is reporting several musicians were in touch with Scott four days before his death and feared that he was off the wagon — using crack cocaine.
This is so tragic.
As we previously reported, Stone Temple Pilots lead singer Scott Weiland was found dead in his tour bus by his manager on Thursday. Since the news broke of the rocker's untimely passing, many have speculated about what may have caused the industry vet's death at only 48-years-old.

It's since been revealed that Scott died from cardiac arrest while touring in Minnesota. So sad!
Unfortunately, it appears the former Velvet Revolver frontman was already dead when he was discovered in the bus that was parked in front of a motel.
In a call between the Bloomington Police Department and Hennepin County Sheriff's Department, dispatchers shared that the Fall to Pieces singer was not breathing and appeared to be in cardiac arrest.
This cause of death has yet to be confirmed by a coroner's report as the underlying C.O.D. has not been made public. We're curious to learn if Weiland's end had anything to do with his past struggle with drug abuse.
Our condolences are with Scott's family and friends during this sad time.
