This would be FANTASTIC!
The Thor movies already have one of the best villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Tom Hiddleston's Loki — but now we might be getting someone just as good!
Variety reports that Cate Blanchett is in talks to join the upcoming God of Thunder sequel, Thor: Ragnarok, as one of the female leads.

Though there's no information on who it might be, there are few characters that we think the Oscar winner could be playing and our guess is the Thor villain Hela– The Asgardian goddess of death!
While it's just a shot in the dark world, Hela would fit in perfectly as she helps Loki bring about Ragnarok — the twilight of the Gods which could potentially be the end to Chris Hemsworth's Thor.
But don't stress too much as the Aussie has already revealed he'll be back for Avengers: Infinity War - Part I & Part II!
We think Blanchett's style would fit PERFECTLY in the Thor universe and we already know she's got a bit of an evil side from this short scene in Lord of the Rings:
Regardless of who she's playing, we're DEFINITELY excited for the film if the blonde beauty joins the cast — especially with Mark Ruffalo returning as the Hulk!
Who do you think Blanchett could be playing in the superhero sequel?!
