Though we don't know the specifics of the deal, we do know that Stern's current contract pays him about $80 million a year for his show, which is live three days each week.
Stern addressed the new deal on his show Tuesday morning, saying:
"This morning I am very very pleased to announce and excited to announce that we'll be here for the next five years."
But the most exciting part of the announcement came when the satellite radio company revealed the five years was only part of a larger 12-year agreement.
The company elaborated on future plans with Stern:
"The deal includes plans for SiriusXM to launch its first venture into video programming with Stern."
Sirius went on the explain that the deal:
"… will include video of The Howard Stern Show as well as the Howard Stern archives and special programming."
