David Letterman Reveals He 'Doesn't Care That Much About Television Anymore' After Retiring From The Late Show! Find Out Why!
After hosting late night shows for over three decades, says he is fully embracing life off the air since retiring in May!
Speaking to Whitefish Review, the 68-year-old explained that he wasn't sure how he was going to feel once Stephen Colbert took over his desk — but it turned out it felt all too natural to move on!
"I thought I would have some trouble, some emotional trouble, or some feeling of displacement, but I realized, hey, that's not my problem anymore. And I have felt much better. It's something for younger men and women to take on."
We guess he learned this lesson faster than Jay Leno did! LOLz!
Letterman also revealed that during his stint as host, he believed his job was much more important than it actually was, adding:
"You believe that what you are doing is of great importance and that it is affecting mankind wall-to-wall. And then when you get out of it you realize, oh, well, that wasn't true at all…It was just silliness. And when that occurred to me, I felt so much better and I realized, geez, I don't think I care that much about television anymore."
Wow, tell us how you really feel!
We're glad the late night veteran is enjoying his retirement!
