The vehicle reportedly swerved onto the sidewalk near the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino — where the Miss Universe pageant was being held — driving onto the sidewalk two or three times before speeding away.
Authorities say the toddler in the car was unharmed, and the drive is in custody being held at Clark County Detention Center.
The suspect was driving a 1996 Oldsmobile with Oregon plates, and was believed to have been in Vegas for approximately a week.
Deputy Chief Zimmerman of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the crash was intentional, but do not believe it was an act of terrorism.
Witnesses said that after the first collision, the female driver sped up before crashing into a second ground of pedestrians. 26 of the injured victims were transported to local hospitals, with six reportedly in critical yet stable condition.
