Remember last year when some unrecognizable woman — who turned out to be Renée Zellweger — walked the red carpet at Elle's 21st annual Women in Hollywood Awards?
Well, the blonde beauty is opening up about the interesting media storm that ensued. At the time, the actress admitted she was happy about the comments on her seemingly-new appearance.

But recently, the 46-year-old dished to Entertainment Weekly about how she REALLY reacted to the response toward her fresh-faced look, saying:
"What good comes from knowing that something like that happened? Less fear. Sure."
It turns out, the Chicago alum actually had no idea how much people were actually talking about it, adding:
"All that I know about is what friends and associates would send in texts and emails. They were sending support, which means that I must have needed it, and I prefer it that way."
So, the Bridget Jones's Baby star wasn't sure how the whole ordeal made her feel, because she never knew the full extent of the coverage, confessing:
"So when people come up to me to ask 'How did that feel?' I don't know, and I like it like that. I don't know. I know it sounds pretty unlikely that a person might be able to make herself, I guess, keep clear of those words or of that experience, but I have and it takes effort. But I have succeeded."
Well, if that's what works best for Renée, we're glad she's able to stay away from the tabloids and the gossip!
