And now that he's super successful, he's doing his part to make other aspiring actors' dreams come true, too!
The 33-year-old revealed in an interview with GQ that he knows how difficult it is to try to live in London as a drama student, because everything is so expensive.
So, as an English thespian, the star feels it's only fair that he help some of them out, saying:
"I get letters from people trying to go to drama school and needing to pay their rent. And so that's something I occasionally do. It's impossibly expensive to live in London."
The famous father-to-be admits he was lucky when he was in their shoes, because his parents lived in the city, so he stayed with them and didn't have to pay rent.
And back when he was an up-and-comer, he had his sights set pretty high regarding roles he wanted to land. The red-headed celeb explained he REALLY wanted to be in a Harry Potter movie, venting to ITV:
"For years I was always like, in the Harry Potter films, there was a whole ginger family, and I never got an audition. And I was like, come on, it's outrageous!"
However, now Hannah Bagshawe's husband is leaving his mark on J.K. Rowling's wizarding world by starring in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them — AKA the prequel to her famed film franchise. He dished about finally nabbing a part in one of her flicks, adding:
"So I was desperate. Every actor in England was in the Harry Potter films, but I never got the call. Now I'm having my moment."
It's probably a result of karma! After all, he has been paying for some students' rent! It looks like that's coming back around!
Well, that and the fact that he's just a ridiculously talented actor. That probably helps.
