Looks like TLC is finally realizing it might be better to chase good television that fleeting ratings…
A network exec spoke at the Television Critics Association panel on Thursday, and was very contrite about their role around the Josh Duggar scandal and eventual canceling of 19 Kids And Counting back in July.

Discussing Duggar's awful sex scandal that came to light over the summer, TLC's executive vice president and general manager Nancy Daniels said:
"We have had our challenges. As soon as we found out about [Josh Duggar], we did work with the family."
Challenges… You don't say…
"These are people who had something happening in their lives a long time ago. We took the show off the air and immediately connected with two well-respected agencies to figure out the appropriate response. And one of those responses was the documentary to put the word out about a situation that doesn't really get talked about."
Of course, the network aired Breaking The Silence, a special about sexual abuse in response to Josh's revelations in addition to ridding themselves of the Duggars.

Daniels, though, was non-committal about the channel pursuing further specials in the future:
"We are still considering doing more but haven't made a decision yet."
Hmm. We don't know how much we're buying the remorse…

While TLC may have taken 19 Kids off the air, it's not as if the Duggars are completely gone from the network. Jill & Jessa: Counting On is still getting them ratings — partially on the strength of Josh's scandal.
