ICYMI, the 55-year-old sat down with Joaquín Guzman Loera — AKA the notorious drug lord's real name — for a Rolling Stone interview that ultimately resulted in his recapture.

On Tuesday, the journalist caught a flight to L.A., to meet with the Television Critics Association. Well, that's at least part of the reason he made the trip.
The 74-year-old revealed that the Mystic River star agreed to discuss the narcotics kingpin with him, saying:
"I went to see him soon after I arrived and we're planning to do an interview about his experience and what happened to him."
The CBS This Morning anchor is ecstatic about his upcoming sit-down, adding:
"I have a 1000 questions for Sean and all the other people involved. It's a remarkable story."
However, the talk show host doesn't have the dates squared away just yet:
"I'm definitely doing an interview. At what time, i don't know yet. That obviously has to do with issues. I'd hope sooner rather than later. I'm prepared to do it whenever I get the green light from him and his lawyers."
But, Charlie is confident that the Milk alum won't sit down with another TV reporter before they have a chance to orchestrate their own chit-chat, explaining:
"I've known him for a long time. I don't think he will be doing any other interviews until we sit down."
We're super interested to see what Sean has to say about the whole ordeal! Would U tune in, Perezcious readers?!
