Talk about burning bridges!
Sara started the letter off as a sort of breakup with the company saying:

On Wednesday, it was reported that Disney is partnering up with Washington D.C.'s Signature Theatre for a musical version of Freaky Friday. This everything we didn't know we needed!
In case you forgot the plot, F.F. tells the story of a mother and teenage daughter who switch bodies. Classic!
The most recent version of the famed story is the 2003 film starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis. The world premiere of the musical will be a collaboration project between the Arlington company and the Tony Award winning team, Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey.
In fact, this duo are the creative minds behind the Broadway hit Next To Normal. Fierce!
The musical adaptation of the wildly popular film is set to run from October 4 to November 13 and will be directed by Christopher Ashley and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo. Well, good thing tickets go on sale July 1!
But how did this production end up in D.C?
Apparently, President Tom Schumacher started coming to shows at the Signature Theatre and was sold this would be the perfect place for the production.
The group's artistic director, Eric Schaeffer stated:
"This is the perfect marriage of us and material. They said: ‘We're looking to work with other theaters around the country. Are you interested?' Tom and [his associates] started to come to our shows, and they fell in love with the space."
Unfortunately, there are no current plans to make a move to Broadway following the premiere. Not to mention, the amount of monetary support from the media mogul to the non-profit theatre has yet to be disclosed. Bummer!
Still, we doubt Kitt and Yorkey won't attempt a move to NYC with such high profiled shows under their belt. The composer noted:
"It really is a new version of ‘Freaky Friday' that pays tribute to what came before it."
LOVES it! Who doesn't love a good reboot?
The lyricist concluded:
"The thing that entranced us all as kids was the magic in the story. And with a musical, where there's magic there can easily be music."
We couldn't be more excited to see what happens with this soon to be hit. Here's hoping Lindsay will turn up for the premiere!
