Now that's a reunion!
Celine Dion Cancels Las Vegas Performances Following The News Of Husband René Angélil's Death — But How Long Will She Be MIA?
We're sad to say we saw this coming.
On Thursday, it was revealed that Celine Dion would be canceling some performances for her Las Vegas residency following the news of her husband René Angélil's death. In case you forgot, the Grammy winner's man had been fiercely battling throat cancer since 1998. So sad!
"With heavy hearts, we regret to inform you that Celine performances Saturday, Jan. 16 and Sunday, Jan. 17 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace have been cancelled. Celine earlier today announced the death of her husband Rene Angelil after a long fight with cancer. The couple had celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary last month. Celine will return to The Colosseum on February 23 to resume performances."
Well that makes complete sense. We can't imagine Miz Dion is feeling like entertaining mass crowds, especially since René was reportedly feeling better right before his passing.
The statement continued:
"All of us at AEG and at Caesars Palace have Celine and her children in our thoughts and prayers."
Though many fans may be disappointed that they won't see the music icon perform, they WILL be refunded the money for their tickets. Phew!
Our hearts go out to Celine and her whole family during this particularly trying time.
