Well this came out of nowhere!
In classic J.J. Abrams fashion, the Star Wars: The Force Awakens director was able to keep things SUPER secret about the existence of the sequel to his hit found footage horror flick Cloverfield!
While we knew there was a movie by the title The Cellar starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Goodman, Abrams' company Bad Robot just released a trailer for the film and announced the REAL title of the flick — 10 Cloverfield Lane!

In a statement regarding the new movie, the director shared:
"The idea came up a long time ago during production. We wanted to make it a blood relative of Cloverfield. The idea was developed over time. We wanted to hold back the title for as long as possible."
Hmm, very inneresting!
Back when the film went under the title The Cellar, we learned that the film was about a woman (Winstead) who wakes up in a cellar with a man (Goodman) who is possibly holding her captive and who warns her she can't leave because there's something terrible happening outside! Scary!
While we don't know what J.J. means by calling the project "a blood relative," we do wonder if this latest production is a DIRECT sequel. Nonetheless, we're definitely excited to figure it all out!
Ch-ch-check out the exciting new trailer for yourself (above)! Be sure to let us know what YOU think the connection is while we wait for it to hit theaters March 11!
