The Oscars are certainly going to be inneresting this year.
On Tuesday, it was revealed that Al Sharpton is the latest celebrity to throw their hat into the ring to boycott the Hollywood event — and he's got a strategy too!
As we previously reported, Jada Pinkett Smith and Spike Lee called for a boycott of the highly publicized award show after it was reported that all 20 of the acting nominees were white. Can you blame them?

In a recent interview, the famous Baptist minister explained:
"We are engaging over the next two days in conference and get other influencers on board. Starting with civil rights leaders and activists and ministers and those who work in the Latino community and those who work in the progressive white community and people on radio who can influence masses of people."
However, the Civil Rights activist also noted to viewers that by not watching the TV event they could join the movement against AMPAS. He continued:
"As you go across the board and people understand that they don't have to march, they don't have to picket, they don't have to go to Hollywood – all they have to do is turn the dial. If enough people turn the dial, you can move that dial with the Nielsen ratings a couple of points, it will send shivers up the spine of many of the advertisers."
For those millennials out there, "turn the dial" means change the channel. LOLz!
As for the organization's President's strategy to remedy the lack of diversity problem, Sharpton appears frustrated that it wasn't implemented sooner. He noted:
"It could be a start. It should be a conversation that's had, but they haven't even done that. We heard that last year."
Regardless, we have a feeling that the 61-year-old could really cause a problem for the Oscars — especially since Lupita Nyong'o is the latest A-lister to voice her disappoint in the nominations. The starlet took to Instagram and shared:
Hmm, doesn't sound like she'll be boycotting though. We guess we'll just have to wait and see!
