James Gandolfini was more than a just TV dad to Jamie-Lynn Sigler!
On Wednesday, after the brunette beauty revealed her decade long struggle with multiple sclerosis, she shared her ability to keep the diagnosis secret for many years, confiding in a select few people — one of them being her The Sopranos poppa.

The 34-year-old shared:
"I was still able to hide it really well. I didn't really need help necessarily, it was more like some pain and feeling uncomfortable but I could easily hide it."
In addition to Gandolfini, the HBO starlet told a few other people in her cast as they felt like her real life "family." She added:
"You can only handle so much by yourself. So the people I felt safest with, I confided in."
We can only imagine that Jamie misses her on-screen dad's support ever since his fatal heart attack back in 2013. On James' protective nature, the Entourage vet relayed:
"[ He ] was very aware and protective in general, but especially after I told him. He was really awesome about it.
Sometimes it makes you feel better to know that somebody else knows. And if you are having a hard day, if you're a little tired, even a pat on the back can make all the difference."
LOVES it! Nonetheless, it seems like Jamie's life is still going pretty well as she recently married her baby daddy Cutter Dykstra.
The Emmy winner may be gone, but we have a feeling the industry pro has quite the support system now in her husband and little boy. Aww!
