While interviewing with Reelblack at the Sundance Film Festival on Wednesday, Ava disclosed that in an effort to promote her peers, her upcoming OWN drama Queen Sugar will feature an all-female directorial team!

Rutina Wesley, Dawn-Lyen Gardner, Kofi Siriboe, and Omar J. Dorsey begin shooting in New Orleans this February, and we cannot wait to see the finished product next season.
