He held a fundraiser for veterans just a few miles down the road in Iowa — and Trump himself donated $1 million to their cause!
Of course, he couldn't do it without being a jackass, but, hey — at least he was being magnanimous too!!
Reading from a list of people who had donated money to vets last night, Trump got to his name and said:
"Donald Trump, another great builder in New York, now a politician – I can't stand this – a politician? I don't want to be called a politician. All talk, no action. I refuse to be called a politician! Donald Trump gave $1 million, okay?"
He then went on kind of a bizarre tangent about greed itself, too:
"I don't feel good about running down money because my whole life I've been greedy greedy, greedy. I've grabbed all the money I could get. I'm so greedy. But now I want to be greedy for the United States. I want to grab all that money for the United States."
And then he gave a GREAT analysis of whether his absence at the debate was going to hurt him in the race:
"You know what? I don't know. Is it for me, personally, a good thing, a bad thing, will I get more votes will I get less votes? Nobody knows. Who the hell knows?"
It's hard to imagine the Oscars without its jaw-dropping ending!
As you know, La La Land was mistakenly announced as the winner of the Best Picture award when it was really Moonlight that won! The shocking moment led to an awkward series of events, with even Jimmy Kimmel cutting in to smooth everything over.
