There's no question this must be excruciatingly difficult on the entire family.

Sofia Vergara isn't throwing in the towel just yet!
Despite turning 43 this past July, Sofia is still open to having another child with her husband Joe Manganiello. The actress is already a mommy to 23-year-old Manolo Gonzalez with her first husband.
In a recent interview, Vergara disclosed whether or not she's scared to go through motherhood again and if she wants to attempt a natural conception.
The beauty dished:
"I wouldn't mind another child: my husband is younger than me and he wants kids so we're trying to figure out what we're going to do. The idea of doing it all again doesn't scare me but, hey, it's not like it's going to happen naturally, is it?"
Inneresting! Is Vergara hinting at a surrogacy? Or who knows, maybe the couple will end up adopting!
"I became a mother very young – at 20 – so I feel like I've been a mother my whole life, but I love that. Now that I'm 43 and my son is 23, it's funny to see some of my girlfriends raising young kids. In the US, women postpone motherhood, but in Latin America most of my friends have kids my son's age."
What a unique perspective… it's always nice to hear the other side of a conversation!
While all this baby talk is obviously exciting, we can't help but remember Sofia's recent legal battle with ex-fiancé Nicholas Loeb.
For those who don't remember, in May of 2015 Nicholas filed for custody of S.F.'s frozen embryos. The two had plans of becoming parents together but obviously decided against it when they split in 2014.
As of now, it appears the case is at a standstill. We just hope the issue doesn't derail Vergara's baby plans with Joe!
