The topic of race came up, and Carson decided he just had to go there on Obama's upbringing (below):
"Like most Americans I was proud that we broke the color barrier when he was elected but I also recognize that his experience and my experience are night and day different. He didn't grow up like I grew up by any stretch of the imagination … He was, you know, raised white. Many of his formative years were spent in Indonesia so for him to claim that he identifies with the experience of black Americans is a bit of a stretch."
Carson goes on in the interview to claim that he knows what racism is, unlike Obama… who documented countless cases of racism in his life spent around the world in Indonesia and Hawaii.
Come on, Ben!!
When did Carson become the ultimate and only arbiter of the "experience of black Americans"?!
Considering there are millions upon millions of black people in America, we think it's a safe bet that many (most?) do not have the exact same experience as each other, let alone as with Obama or Carson.
Carson is running an awful campaign, and he's never going to be president. But this stuff about trying to be more black than President Obama… stop that.
