Former season 12 Bachelor contestant and pilot Erin Storm has reportedly died in a fiery plane crash shortly after takeoff from the Hawthorne Municipal Airport Monday. Storm competed for Matt Grant's heart on the ABC show back in 2008.
According to reports, the Venice Beach resident was flying an Airborne XT-912 light-sport, weight-shift control plane when something went wrong.
Byron Mayes was working nearby and says that he witnessed the crash.

He told NBC:
"All of a sudden, my partner started yelling, 'Watch out, there's a plane coming!' and it looked like the plane veered up, lost control and hit a couple feet away from the truck, a couple feet away from us."
Mayes recounted that he and his coworkers rushed over and pulled out Storm from the burning plane. According to him, her legs were on fire and she was in cardiac arrest when the rescue crews arrived.
Storm was transported to a trauma center where she was tragically pronounced dead.

Storm recently said on her Facebook account that she felt "super grateful" to be flying these particular planes:
Today was a wonderful day for me! I'm super grateful to have the opportunity to be flying these things! Thank you Henry Boger and Courtney Brin! 2016 is off to a phenomenal start!
