Serves him right, too!
Raymond Moore, the CEO and tournament director at Indian Wells, a very popular yearly destination for pro tennis stars, has resigned from his position in disgrace.
His decision comes after quite a bit of backlash for some awful remarks about female tennis stars.

The shamed CEO said on Sunday, before the final of the BNP Paribas Open that featured Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka, that the women's game had a LOT to be thankful for from the men:
"I think the WTA [Women's Tennis Association] … you know, in my next life, when I come back, I want to be someone in the WTA because they ride on the coattails of the men. They don't make any decisions, and they are lucky. They are very, very lucky."
Apparently, it wasn't enough for Moore to stop there, though:
"If I was a lady player, I'd go down every night on my knees and thank God that Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal were born because they have carried this sport. They really have."
There are plenty of female players that are and have been superstars — none of whom need to thank the men for "carrying" the sport!
Really, Raymond? REALLY?!

Indian Wells owner Larry Ellison confirmed that Moore had resigned by Monday night:
"Ray let me know that he has decided to step down from his roles as CEO and Tournament Director, effective immediately. Thanks to the leadership of Billie Jean [King], Martina Navratilova, Venus Williams, Serena Williams and so many other great women athletes, an important measure of success has already been achieved. All of us here at the BNP Paribas Open promise to continue working with everyone to make tennis a better sport for everybody."
Moore apologized for his remarks, but, uh… too little, too late.
When are these guys going to understand that you can't be sexist?!
