Teen Mom 2 is back — and while some moms are dealing with the show's typical family drama, others are dealing with a much bigger heartbreak.
On Monday's season premiere, the MTV stars reminded fans that being a teen mom comes with custody battles, complex family dynamics, and tons of emotional strife.
Jenelle Evans was busy dealing with the aftermath of her August arrest after allegedly assaulting ex-fiance Nathan Griffith's new girlfriend Jessica Henry.

During the episode, the 24-year-old argued with Griffith over the case and visitation disagreements over their son Kaiser. Evans also fought with her mom Barbara, who maintains full custody of Jace — her 6-year-old son from another relationship.
When Barbara came over to pick up Jace after the weekend, Evans — who was already tired because Kaiser had been up sick all night — didn't react well when her mom fired out a line of questioning about the assault case, saying:
"Three things I do not want to talk about: Nathan in custody, you in custody and then my pending charge!"
Things were just as dramatic for Kailyn Lowry, whose relationship with husband Javi Marroquin was growing tense over her amicable relationship with her ex Jo Rivera.
Lowry, who was trying to keep things friendly and civil with her ex for the sake of their 6-year-old son Isaac, arranged a photoshoot with Isaac and Lincoln (her 2-year-old son with Javi).
But Javi decided not to show up because Lowry's ex was there, then refused to join the group for dinner afterwards — telling Lowry on the phone that he wanted her to bring Lincoln back home to him instead of out to dinner.

Between a sick daughter and an upcoming custody battle, Leah Messer was definitely going through the toughest time during the premiere.
While the 23-year-old was getting along fine with ex-husband Jeremy Calvert as they co-parented 3-year-old Adalynn, things weren't going as smoothly with other ex-husband Corey Simms — who had filed for full custody of 6-year-old twins Aleeah and Aliannah.
The most heartbreaking part of the episode was when Messer and Simms took their daughter Ali — who suffers from muscular dystrophy — to the doctor because she had been falling more frequently, up to "five times a day."
The doctor confirmed that Ali's condition worsens with age, and since she would be starting to weaken even more, Ali should be using her powered wheelchair at all times.
But things weren't bad for all the teen moms! Chelsea Houska was on good terms with her now-fiance Cole DeBoer and daughter Aubree — whose first day of kindergarten was the most adorable highlight of the episode.
