Somehow, it's been 20 years since Hanson released their 1996 smash hit MMMBop!
The upbeat earworm has been steadily playing on radio for the past two decades and has been covered by countless musicians — none of which, apparently, have been singing it right!
In a new interview with Vulture, brothers Zac Hanson, Taylor Hanson, and Isaac Hanson revealed most of the people who belt out the catchy chorus of the chart-topping track are MMM-ing and Bop-ing incorrectly!

Isaac explained about the covers he's heard:
"People can't sing the chorus right. Most of the time they syncopate it wrong."
They wait 20 years to tell us that?!
Bands like One Direction, Phish, and The Vamps have all performed versions of the ‘90s hit — but have clearly failed in the eyes of the OG performers.
Though the brothers still have hope that the single will eventually be covered to their liking. Taylor explained:
"Someone needs to either make it totally their own in a genuinely unique way, or it needs to be a band that has a sensibility for old R&B. Fitz and the Tantrums could maybe do it."
Isaac threw another name into the ring for variety, adding:
"If Bruno Mars were interested, he'd probably find a way to kill it."
We LOVE that idea!
Have YOU been singing MMMBop wrong all these years?
