Ever Since Zayn Malik departed from One Direction just over a year ago, we've wondered what kind of greatness might be in store for the 23-year-old.
Well, we didn't have to wait long!
On March 25, the young stud released his debut album, Mind of Mine — and made music history by scoring the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100!

Billboard reports the album, which was released through RCA Records, moved 157,000 equivalent album units by the end of the first week ending on March 31 and 112,000 of those units were pure album sales.
Not only that, but seeing as how Zayn was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, he has now become the FIRST MALE U.K. solo artist ever to debut an album at the number one spot!
Malik is also the first male U.K. artist to reach the number 1 spot with their first album since George Michael did so in 1988 with Faith. George's album didn't debut at the top spot though, but rather started at number 41 and didn't make it to number 1 until the ninth week.

If that's not enough, the former One Direction singer is also the first U.K. act — solo or group — to debut atop the chart since his former boy band group dropped their album, Up All Night, back in 2012.
Oh, but there's more! The British hottie has also joined the likes of Justin Timberlake, Gwen Stefani, and Beyoncé as artists who have had a number 1 album as part of a group AND as a solo artist.
Are U loving Mind of Mine as much as everyone else?
