Our hearts are anything but achy and/or breaky right now!
Billy Ray Cyrus is father to arguably the most progressive pop star in the entire world, so his stance on equal rights shouldn't come as too much of a shock.
Still, it's nice to see that Miley Cyrus' country papa has the same values as she does and is actively speaking out against those recent anti-LGBT bills in Mississippi and North Carolina!
Video: Billy Ray Returns To TV In Still The King
As you may have already seen, Canadian rocker Bryan Adams joined the long list of celebs cancelling gigs down South due to discrimination over the weekend, and it looks like he inspired Billy Ray to do the same!
In fact, the former Hannah Montana patriarch followed his friend's lead by sharing a message to his Facebook fans on Monday, saying:
"I would feel negligent to not speak up. In light of my good friend, Bryan Adams, taking a stand and my daughter having been on the ground floor of this movement, this issue is very important to me. As a friend and dad… I've witnessed this fight from the very beginning. I think everyone should be treated equal. We've come too far; we can't mess this up.
He's still the king in our book!
Sure, one man promising not to perform in a state just because of its bigoted laws might not permanently change things for the better, but it's definitely another step in the right direction!
Who do U think will join the movement next??
