Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice may have been a hot mess, but Ben Affleck's portrayal of the Dark Knight was a glimmering beacon of hope for the future of the big screen DC universe.
Now, it looks like the Caped Crusader is set to fly solo — because Warner Bros. confirmed it is developing a standalone Batman film!
At the studio's CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas, CEO Kevin Tsujihara confirmed that the actor would star in a solo Batman film and hinted at what many have long suspected — that the Oscar-winner will be directing!
Last month, it was reported that Ben had written a "really cool" solo Batman script — so it doesn't come as much of a surprise the writer-director of Gone Baby Gone and The Town would be at the helm.
Though he didn't specifically state that Affleck would be writing and directing the solo installment, Tsujihara listed the 43-year-old as one of the "filmmakers" working to expand the DC universe — right beside Aquaman director James Wan!
It looks like the actor is going full force with the cape and cowl. He's already signed on for two Justice League movies and will make a bat-cameo in the upcoming Suicide Squad.
No date has been announced for the Batfleck Batflick, but Warners did just free up a spot in their schedule on October 5, 2018.
Are YOU excited to see Batfleck in his own movie?
