Prince's music is sure to stand the test of time.
On Thursday, the icon's albums The Very Best of Prince, Purple Rain, and The Hits/The B-Sides took the top three spots on iTunes. The musician's hit single Purple Rain is currently at No. 7 on the list of top songs.
Given the outpouring of respect and love for the singer since his untimely passing, we're not surprised to see his music soar to the top of the charts. We have a feeling this will continue to be the trend for days to come.
"Our GRAMMY family is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of seven-time GRAMMY Award winner Prince. Today, we remember and celebrate him as one of the most uniquely gifted artists of all time. Never one to conform, he redefined and forever changed our musical landscape. Prince was an original who influenced so many, and his legacy will live on forever. We have lost a true innovator and our sincerest condolences go out to his family, friends, collaborators, and all who have been impacted by his incredible work."
What a beautiful and accurate message. One of Prince's best qualities was his refusal to "conform". He truly lived life on his own terms which is too often a rarity.
As for the creative's history with the Grammys, he holds thirty-two Grammy nominations and three wins. Prince's most recent victory was in 2008 when he snagged Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.
While the prolific entertainer is no longer with us, it's clear his incredible legacy lives on.
