We just hope there isn't a connection.

As we reported on Thursday, Prince was found unresponsive in his elevator, as paramedics were unable to revive him. He was pronounced dead at 10:07 a.m.

The 57-year-old recorded 39 studio albums, leaving behind a vast musical legacy. However, in one of his most famous songs Let's Go Crazy, there are lyrics that coincidentally describe how he passed.

In the 1984 song, which was the second single off Purple Rain, the artist sings :

"And if de-elevator tries to bring you down/ Go crazy, punch a higher floor."

It's hard not to see how this lyric eerily recounts his last moments.

However, in a 1997 interview for VH1, Prince explained to Chris Rock that the line is a metaphor about the devil (elevator going down) and God (the higher floor).

Regardless, his influence in music will — without a doubt — last for generations to come.
