Remember Amy Grant's '90s hit Baby Baby? Well, if you don't quickly refresh your memory here! Anyway, the classic pop song turns 25 this year, and Miz Grant is enlisting one fierce female with powerful pipes to help celebrate.
While the Grammy nominee wasn't even alive when the chart-topper first came out back in 1991, she decided to take on the honor, and the 55-year-old was so glad, telling People:
"I was thrilled to hear that Tori was on board to record it. Although I had not met Tori at that point, my 15-year-old daughter, Corrina, is a big fan of Tori's and so I was very aware of her incredible talent and was honored she would sing this song."
Producer Dave Garcia combined the California native's recently recorded vocals with Amy's performance from decades ago, and the famous momma absolutely raved about T.K.'s voice, adding:
"Tori is such an incredible vocalist, one of the most effortless singers I have ever heard, and once she starts singing it is like a rocket engine has been strapped on to the song and she takes us all on a ride. I really think she knocked it out of the park."
The remake drops everywhere on Friday, and the Nashville native wants fans both old and new to enjoy the modern spin, saying:
"My hope is that those who loved the original will enjoy the breath of fresh air that Tori puts into the song and that perhaps the song will find a brand new audience of younger listeners who weren't even born when the original was on the radio."
