By now, we're all used to Donald Trump word vomiting some of the most ridiculous things we could ever imagine a person running for president saying.
Sadly, just when we thought the businessman couldn't be any more offensive or over the top, he goes and makes a claim that Ted Cruz's father, Rafael Cruz, was somehow linked and involved with Lee Harvey Oswald — the man who assassinated President John F. Kennedy.
Trump appeared on Fox and Friends on Tuesday morning and said:
"You know, his father was with Lee Harvey Oswald prior to Oswald's being — you know, shot. I mean, the whole thing is ridiculous. What is this?"
The former Celebrity Apprentice star continued saying:
"Right prior to his being shot and nobody even brings it up. I mean, they don't even talk about that. That was reported and nobody talks about it."
This comment was a result of The National Enquirer (Trump happens to be buddies with CEO David Pecker) reporting last week that it had evidence that Rafael was photographed next to Oswald in 1963, only a few months before the assassination.
Cruz's campaign responded quickly to the story, saying:
"Trump is detached from reality, and his false, cheap, meaningless comments every day indicate his desperation to get attention and willingness to say anything to do so. We are campaigning on jobs freedom and security while Trump campaigns on false tabloid garbage. And the media is willfully enabling him to cheapen the value of our democratic process."
But Ted wasn't done there.
Shortly after Donald appeared on the Fox News show, the other GOP candidate decided to get in front of cameras and absolutely HAMMER his competition calling him a "pathological liar":
"This man is a pathological liar. He doesn't know the difference between truth and lies. He lies practically every word that comes out of his mouth."
Cruz went on to blast Trump's fidelity to his own wife, claiming:
"This is not a secret, he is proud of being a serial philanderer…Describes his battles with venereal diseases as his own personal Vietnam."
Wow. Just awful.
Is there any way the Republican party can call a mulligan and get some new candidates already??

The President-elect last night tuned in for Saturday Night Live, as he apparently often does, and after seeing himself spoofed by Alec Baldwin on the show, The Donald took to Twitterto deliver a VERY strong (haha, jk) message!
