UPDATE 3:40 PM EST: Richard's rep, Tom Estey, elaborated further on the reports that the fitness star is transitioning into a woman.
Slamming the claims, he shared with People:
"It's not true. He is not transitioning into a woman. He has decided to live quietly the last few years. He had knee surgery a few years ago and has a bum knee. He is still on Twitter and Facebook and works behind the scenes continuing to inspire and motivate people to lose weight. When he decides to come back, he will come back."
Additionally, Tom confirmed that Richard "was in the hospital over the weekend for dehydration and was out the next day. He's a human being. He was in the public eye for over three decades, but he deserves his privacy. He should be able to have a private life. He just needed a break. He is still taking care of the people who need his help."
All that matters is that he's healthy!
As we previously reported, it appeared Richard Simmons was actually released from the hospital on Monday, despite other reports saying he was discharged Saturday.
We're just hoping he's feeling better!

ICYMI: Simmons was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital Friday night, but he later shared his recent hospitalization was due to dehydration.
Well now that it seems he's finally back home, a new report is claiming the famous fitness star is transitioning into a woman. Huh? The National Enquirer is saying Richard has been out of the public eye because he has already undergone breast implant surgery and has been going through hormone therapy over the past two years.
A source told the tabloid the 67-year-old considered having a "vagina built by doctors," and that he "never really felt comfortable being a man."
The glossy also quoted an insider, dishing about a 2013 trip to Argentina Richard reportedly took:
"Richard behaved and spoke as a woman the whole evening. He was wearing a rainbow-colored wig, was very softly spoken and had all the mannerisms of a woman. He appeared to be totally natural and comfortable as a woman. I was quite shocked and surprised, but to Richard and his manager, it seemed like the most natural thing in the world."
His publicist has since slammed the rumors, saying to the Daily Mail that "this is crap".

Our only thoughts are with Richard right now as he continues to recover from his recent trip to the hospital!
Get well soon!
