This is unimaginably tragic.
The team did release a statement on the matter, though (below):
It's still so hard to believe Christina Grimmie is gone.
The former The Voice contestant was murdered by a "deranged fan" while signing autographs after her concert at the Plaza Live Theater in Orlando on Friday night.
Julie Emmet, a concertgoer at the Friday show, spoke to E! News recalling the shock of hearing the news of Christina's passing:
"It really hasn't hit me yet that she's gone, but it's just really shocking and heartbreaking, to have been there especially."
"She's always so bubbly and energetic on stage. She loves what she does. It was just a normal night for her. I remember the last song she sang was a very upbeat song… She loves singing and performing. She was just very energetic like always."
Julie didn't witness the shooting, nor did she see the shooter, but she shared of those who did:
"People that I was with—acquaintances with—they saw [the shooter]. They were in front of him in line. One of my friends tweeted that she looked right into his eyes and smiled. She didn't know."
What a horrible, senseless killing.
Christina's friends, family, and fans continue to be in our thoughts during this difficult time.
