On Tuesday morning, the body of Miss USA 2003 contestant Samantha Edwards was found inside her house in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The Star Tribune reports that authorities were called around 8:30 a.m. EST to a house in the 1700 block of Upton Avenue N., where they found the brunette beauty's body.

Unfortunately, the cause of death is unknown at this time as investigators wait for the Hennepin County medical examiner's report on the tragedy.
One of Samantha's friends, Jessica Dereschuk, has already set up a GoFundMe page — with the contestant's sister's permission — to help pay for funeral expenses and to take care of Edward's dachshund, Peanut. Awww…
Jessica, who affectionately refers to her late friend as "Sami", remembers her fondly, saying:
"Sami was one of the most vibrant, crazy, compassionate, loyal balls of energy you could ever come across in life. A conversation with her could either leave you full of adrenaline or utterly exhausted. She was a spitfire and with Sami you never knew what she'd throw your way—but you ALWAYS knew she would be there for you. She was awesome like that."

Dereschuk went on to say:
"I never got to meet Sami's family. Which is so crazy to me as I feel like I know them from all the stories and conversations we shared. She loved her mom and sister so deeply, those were her girls. When she would talk about her brother, she beamed with pride."
The Miss USA Facebook page also shared a tribute to the deceased contestant:
After Edwards competed in the Miss USA pageant, she attended the Aveda Institute – a cosmetology school in Minneapolis — and went on to work as a freelance makeup artist.
We can't begin to imagine what Samantha's loved ones are going through and our hearts go out to them during this difficult time.
