As you probably know, Hillary Clinton has come under a lot of fire over the past year for using a private email server — but we FINALLY might be headed towards a resolution!
"Although there is evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information, our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case."
"In looking back at our investigations into the mishandling or removal of classified information, we cannot find a case that would support bringing criminal charges on these facts."
If you're skeptical about the agency's thoroughness, James said that the FBI spent "a tremendous amount of work over the last year" on the case as they read ALL of Clinton's 30,000 emails that were provided to the State Department in 2014.
Unfortunately, the FBI doesn't have the final say; the case is now headed to the Department of Justice who will make the final decision on if any action should be taken.
Mr. Comey's statement comes only a few days after a spokesperson for Hillary said that the candidate had a "voluntary" meeting that lasted three hours with investigators to talk about the emails.
While we have no idea how the DOJ will handle the situation, we'll be paying oh-so-close attention to how this all plays out!
